Lone Star Dragons is a small private breeder of premium red phase inland bearded dragons. Our bearded dragons are kept in only
the most lush enclosures in settings intended to replicate their natural habitat. Our size permits more personalized attention to both
you and to your future bearded dragons. We selectively breed only the most beautifully colored red phase bearded dragons with
outstanding temperaments. Our hold back breeder dragons are first and foremost, our beloved pets. They are treated with love and

Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to breed high quality red phase bearded dragons and to offer these bearded dragons for sale to our customers at
reasonable prices while advancing knowledge and awareness of bearded dragon husbandry techniques.

How It All Started

Lone Star Dragons came about as a result of a curiosity which later developed into an profound appreciation for bearded dragons. Like
many, our first dragon was an impulse buy from a local pet store. She was a very tiny normal phase bearded dragon named Bumble.
As she grew, we discovered that she had a significantly nipped tail and a "don't mess with me" attitude (maybe as a result of the
husbandry that resulted in the loss of much of her tail). We learned a lot from Bumble and like to think that she learned a lot from us.
(Our line of red phase dragons did not develop from Bumble since her coloring and temperament were both less than desirable.) Over
time, we began to acquire and breed red phase bearded dragons because we found them to be the most attractive of all bearded
dragons. Now, we are delighted to offer these red phase bearded dragons, our pride and joy, to you. We hope that you enjoy our site

What are Bearded Dragons?

Bearded dragons (or beardies as they are commonly called) are lizards that are native to the very dry deserts and woodland habitats of
central Australia. Beardies are omnivorous and their natural diet consists of insects, small vertebrates, and vegetation. Beardies are
survivors and will eat a wide variety of food items which pretty consists of anything that will fit into their mouth. As a result, beardies
make good pets because they are pretty hearty and can survive many mistakes made by their human friends. Another think that makes
beardies a great pet is their laid back personalities. Beardies tend to be very placid and tolerate and even enjoy being handled and
held, which is rare among reptiles and lizards. Beardies get their name from their "beard" that they display during aggressive and
breeding displays. Mature males' "beards" become black during courtship and breeding displays. Adult bearded dragons typically have
about a ten inch body length and adult beardies are typically about twenty-four inches in total length, including the tail. Male bearded
dragons are longer and have larger heads than females. Female bearded dragons tend to have a thicker, bulkier body structure than
